The Department of Science and Technology Region V released this month the financial support for the project ” Technology and Training Assistance in the Establishment of Eco- Park in Virac, Catanduanes” through the Provincial S&T Office- Catanduanes.
The DOST- V local Grant-in-Aid (GIA) fund amounting to One Million Nine Hundred Eleven Thousand pesos (Php 1,911,000.00) is a counterpart of DOST for the procurement of one (1) unit Glass Pulverizing Machine, one (1) unit Styro Plastic Densifier and one (1) set of Brick Maker/CHB Hollow blocks machine intended for the management of Solid waste specifically on generated plastics and glass.
This project aimed to mechanized the processing of collected wastes by converting it into valuable products and enhance the knowledge and technical capacity of barangay officials on SWM System, MRF operation, proper segregation, etc.
The activity was primarily participated in by: (1) Mayor Samuel V. Laynes (2) Vice-Mayor Arlynn H. Arcilla, MD (3) MPDC Maria M. Gianan (4) Mun. Administrator Jose G. Tarraya (5) Mun. Treasurer Concepcion M. Benavidez (6) Mun. Accountant Emmanuel T. Tomagan (7) MENRO-Designate Japhet Regime Caranza Provincial S&T Director Engr. Marie Grace Molina (9) Joyce Ann Baluyo- SRS II and (10) Jennelyn Tayamora- PTAIV.
