Virac, Catanduanes – As it is still uncertain as to when the pandemic is going to end and travel guidelines are constantly changing, the National Bureau of Investigation in Bicol led by Regional Director Paterno V. Morales personally visited the province of Catanduanes and met with the local officials to discuss a possibility of putting up a satellite office here.
This came after Mayor Sinforoso M. Sarmiento Jr., of Virac who requested for said project to the NBI. Residents here have been spending time and money travelling to mainland bicol to get their clearances most especially needed for work.
The agency is hopeful that the office will start giving service to the people for clearance issuance by the end of this year with the pledge of support from Gov. Joseph C. Cua and the Provincial government of Catanduanes.
RD Morales was accommpanied by NBI Naga Chief Agent-In-Charge Erwin I. Marpuri, Sgt. Robert Joey M. Ajero, and Ruben I. Balangayos Jr.
Meanwhile, Provincial Board Member Robert A. Fernandez is already preparing for a special NBI clearance issuance activity by September.
