The unspoiled beach is bordered by gleaming white sand. It faces the mainland Bicol where one could take a full view of the breathtaking silhouette of Mayon Volcano and its neighbor, Bulusan Volcano, from a distance. At sunset, soft clouds which sometimes drape the volcanoes evoke the fragility of a Japanese etching. At low tide, the sand is laid bare for miles as the water recedes; you have to walk quite far out to swim, At high tide, however, the waves completely cover the shores.

Mamangal Beach

Catanduanes is famous for its waves; however, the province has beautiful beaches with cream-colored sand and calm glass-like waters for swimming and beach bumming. Mamangal is close to Virac, the biggest town on the island, making the beach an ideal for those who want a quick getaway that’s idyllic and picturesque. Mamangal has tranquil waters, depending on the weather, and quiet surroundings.

Balite Beach

The sprawling beach is covered with cool and shady trees; blessed with fine white sands, both in the shoreline and in the swimming area. It has a narrow opening that provides a challenging point of entry and is hidden in the midst of thickets.

Batag Beach

The beach is bordered by coconut trees and the back of the resort leans against the hill, giving it an air somewhat of the Chocolate Hills of Bohol. Its shoreline is covered with fine white sand and its pristine azure waters never falls to lure to visitor to take dip. The unspoiled beach is bordered by gleaming white sands. Its clean and natural luster is recommended for picnickers and swimmers or even for spearfishing. Virac boasts of several fine golden sand beaches, mostly raw and virginal.

Twin Rock Beach Resort

Igang Beach otherwise called Twin Rock Beach located southwest of Catanduanes; it is one of the best known and developed resorts in the island. The shoreline has cream and fine sand set on a fine with relaxing. The resort owes its name to the stunning rock formation simply seaward. Without a doubt, the sticking elements of this resort are the islets and rock developments bulging out only a couple meters off the shore.

Tampad Beach (Talisoy)

Just minutes away from Virac City, you will find a very nice little beach called Talisoy Beach. It’s managed by a barangay called Talisoy to generate some extra income. That’s why there’s an entrance fee of 50 PHP (0.94 PHP), and cottages are also available for rent. According to the locals, the beach was originally called Tampad Beach, but regionally it is now known as Talisoy Beach. Other names used for this beach are ‘Talisoy Cove’ or ‘Jesus Face Beach’. The image below shows quite well why they also call it ‘Jesus Face Beach’.

Hicming Falls

Hicming, Virac, Catanduanes

Hicming Falls is located in Barangay Hicming, a 20-minute drive from Virac center. Most tricycle riders can find their way over there, with or without the help of the forthcoming locals. Hicming Falls is actually not a mainstream attraction in Catanduanes by any means. This might make for an excellent opportunity to avoid any other tourists for once. You can be together with unspoiled nature and warm, friendly locals that are excited to see any foreigner or outsider.

Sto. Domingo River

The longest and biggest river in the province with clear and refreshing waters. Catanduanes is predominantly rolling hemmed by hills and mountains and crossed by rivers and creeks.

Museo de Catanduanes

Museo de Catanduanes, is the island’s principal museum, built up by the Provincial Tourism Office of Catanduanes which caters the province’s historical, cultural, and social legacy. The museum is situated at the 2nd floor of Old Capitol Building in Barangay Sta. Elena, Virac, Catanduanes.

Immaculate Conception Cathedral

San Roque, Virac, Catanduanes

Are awes by the amazing ceiling design of Marvel at the stained glass windows of the church of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral built during the Spanish era. Its ceiling will bring you in the churches of Vatican. This cathedral has been super imposed over the old parish church.

Igang Chapel Ruins

Igang, Virac, Catanduanes

The chapel is built just few meters away from the seashore and we might conclude that it was destroyed due to typhoon and rough sea waves. We are still collecting data about its history.
